While most coral calciums are very effective in the body it is the reader’s choice as to which one to use. There is evidence that harvesting coral from under the sea is not considered particularly “green” as it may harm the ecological dwellings of new life developing in the sand which consist of mostly of coral. It is a well know fact that the small coral animals (polyps) reside here while they struggle to grow up. It just seems so much more ecologically friendly to harvest coral from above the sea as virtually no life exists there. And the Certificate of Analysis (calcium, magnesium and 62 trace minerals) are almost exactly the same between both corals.
Bruce W. Halstead MD, was a member of GESAMP (The Group of Experts on the Scientific Aspects of Marine Pollution) has written the book Fossil Stony Coral Minerals and Their Nutritional Application, which outlines the tremendous value of above sea coral.
