Hydrochloric Acid (HCL)-stomach acid that is essential for life

Dr. Bob says …

Alive and Well with HCL

The situation was critical; the patient was not responding. “My patient is very near death!” the doctor told his associates.

In near desperation, Dr. Macgilvra nervously gave his patient an injection. Eight minutes later the man’s lips began to twitch. In ten minutes his hands began to move. And in 40 minutes he was talking coherently. Later, when asked about his patient’s condition, the doctor replied with a smile. “He is doing very well and has had no ill effects.” Most amazing! Indeed it was, because this true event marked the first time in history that hydrochloric acid had been injected into man.[i]

Hydrochloric acid is not a drug. It is the essential factor in our blood chemical balance, such as the hydrochloric acid (HCL) used by Dr. Macgilvra in this historic event; and the stomach acid secreted by our stomach. HCL is . . .

  • ·        The only acid our body produces and is absolutely essential for life,
  • ·        The first substance in the stomach that breaks down food.
  • ·        Without it, food becomes a mass of poorly digested acid waste residue.
  • ·        Reduced quantities (or its total absence) foretell illness.
  • ·        Betaine hydrochloride is the supplemental form of HCL.
  • ·        Vitamins, amino acids and minerals depend upon HCL for absorption.

Manifold Benefits of HCL

·        HCL is the first line of defense against harmful bacteria in our food

·        HCL in normal levels destroys and digests food-born parasites

·        HCL cleans up detrimental waste products resulting from poor food choices

·        Adequate levels of HCL helps reduce tissue acid and waste buildup

·        HCL helps  attain and maintain proper pH levels

·        Adequate HCL helps produce and maintain total digestive process

Clear-cut Indications of HCL Need

The majority of Americans – including growing numbers of children – are not aware of the crucial necessity for HCL (even supplemental when indicated), which may make itself known in a number of ways:

·        Burning feeling in stomach, burping and distress shortly after eating

·        Abdominal distress and gas a few hours after eating

·        Foul abdominal gas

·        Infrequent and difficult elimination coupled with chronic constipation

Often the above indications may be misinterpreted as “too much” stomach acid and antacids are prescribed. In his well-written book, Why Stomach Acid is Good for You, nutrition and digestion specialist, Jonathan V. Wright, M.D., clearly explains in laymen terms, why antacids may harm you and suggests how to transition oneself away from antacid dependency.
